On July 13, 2006, JOSEPH J. HOFFMAN, a retired safety engineer for Utica Mutual Ins. Co., formally of Baltimore, MD, in his home after a long illness. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and worked for Utica for over 35 years. Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of Boys Latin. Mr. Hoffman was an avid sports fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the former Baltimore Colts. He loved doing crossword puzzles, being with family, and watching old movies; husband of the late Willida Sweet Hoffman; beloved father of two daughters, Leslie Jaffae of Carver, MA and Sandra Bowers of Franklin, MA; two grandsons, Nathan Jaffae of Berkeley, CA and Scott Bowers of Plainville, MA; two grand-daughters, Jodie Marshall and Jaime Converse both of N. Attleboro, MA and several great-grandchildren. He was the beloved brother of Joan Hamper and Vera Walters of Baltimore, MD; Donald Hoffman of Boynton Beach, FL and is survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews of Baltimore and Florida.
