MARVIN ZELL JONES of Powell, Ohio (formerly of Glen Burnie, Maryland) beloved husband and father, died on July 13, he was 82 years old. Mr. Jones was born March 15, 1924 in Washington, DC to the late Marvin Zell and Catherine Clara (Cruickshank) Jones. He graduated from Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal, VA, prior to joining the Army Air Corps during WWII. While in the military, he met and married his lifelong sweetheart, Helen Smith. After the war, he graduated from the University of Maryland in Business and Accounting. Mr. Jones worked for the federal government as an Internal Revenue agent until his retirement in 1979. He then worked for the State of Maryland Attorney General's Office, Fraud Division, until 1983. Mr. Jones lived in Glen Burnie, MD for 47 years. A longtime member of the Harundale Presbyterian Church, he served as a deacon, trustee, elder and treasurer of the church. After moving to Powell, in 2002, he became a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jones' passion was flying. After receiving his license as a private pilot, he enjoyed taking family members and friends to various destinations, just for a dinner or visit. Mr Jones is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Helen; his sister, Jean Mc Sweeney of PAlm COast, Fl., daughter, Carol and husband Randy Mc Williams of Powell; son, Michael R., and wife Mary Jones, of Ellicott City, MD; grandson, Jonathan Osborne, of Alexandria, VA; and granddaughter, Elizabeth and husband Craig Williams of Santa Ana, CA. A memorial service will be held at 9 A.M. Saturday, July 22 at the Liberty Presbyterian Church in Delaware, OH.
