Howard County police have arrested and charged two Laurel men in the drive-by shooting incident last week involving a 17-year-old.

Wayne Vincent Hamilton, 22, of the 8900 block of Pembrook Woods and Robert Roy Pearson Jr., 19, of the 9000 block of Old Scaggsville Road were arrested and charged with attempted murder and multiple assault and handgun charges July 7.

The 17-year-old told police that he had confronted Hamilton and Pearson the day before about their possible involvement in a burglary of his apartment.

The three argued at Pearson's home, and the 17-year-old left. Later that evening, the 17-year-old told police that a black Lincoln Continental, which he recognized as having been at Pearson's house earlier, followed him as he drove a van and opened fire on him at All Saints Road and Covered Wagon Drive in Laurel.

Bullets struck the van, but the teenager was not injured.

Hamilton is being held on no bond and Pearson on $500,000 bond at the Howard County Detention Center.
