Adam Paul Klank, 22, caregiver, outdoor enthusiast

Services for Adam Paul Klank, a caregiver and outdoor enthusiast who drowned Thursday in Prettyboy Reservoir, were held yesterday in Timonium. The Glenville, Pa., resident was 22.

Mr. Klank was swimming in the northern Baltimore County reservoir with a friend, when both men disappeared and drowned.

Mr. Klank was born in Baltimore and raised in Cockeysville and Stewartstown, Pa. He was a graduate of New Freedom Christian High School in New Freedom, Pa.

For the past month, Mr. Klank had been working with autistic men as a caregiver with Penn-Mar Organization Inc., a nonprofit that aids families and individuals with disabilities in northern Baltimore County and southern York County, Pa.

Earlier, he had been a laboratory worker at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Mr. Klank enjoyed hiking, nature walks and canoeing. He also liked collecting antiques and vintage photographs.

He was a member of Apostolic Christian Fellowship Church in Owings Mills.

Survivors include his parents, Sterling C. and Brenda S. Klank of Glenville; a sister, Emily E. Klank of Glenville; his paternal grandparents, Richard Klank and Barbara Wright of Baltimore; and his maternal grandparents, Earl and Ramona Heist of Glen Rock, Pa.
