Hampden's newest boutique is filled with styles you won't find at a mall. Doubledutch is a cute little shop, just off the Avenue, stocked with clothes and accessories both handmade and from independent labels. Although they aren't vintage clothes, vintage elements abound.

The owners, Lesley Jennings (at left in far-right photo) and Megan Luther (right), met online in a mothers' discussion group. They take turns in the shop "so we can both be at home with our kids," says Luther. There's even a child-friendly area in the store for other young mothers while they're shopping.

Clothes from indie designers can sometimes be pricey, but not at Doubledutch. The women are trying to keep their clothes affordable, with just about everything for summer under $100.

The boutique is open Tuesday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On First Thursdays, when the shop stays open late, look for special events, a live deejay and 10 percent off from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
