Woman dies after motorcycle hits deer

A Westminster woman died yesterday after the motorcycle she was driving near Manchester collided with a deer, police said. Julie Anne Lang, 39, of the 2300 block of Snydersburg Road was operating a 2004 Harley Davidson northbound on Route 27, south of Albert Rill Road, about 8:30 a.m. when she struck the deer. Lang was thrown to the ground. and taken by helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she died. She was wearing a helmet, police said.

One dead, one held in shooting

A shooting in Pasadena left one person dead and another in police custody, Anne Arundel County police said early today. The shooting, about 9:30 last night, occurred in the 100 block of Beacrane Road. It was characterized by police as a domestic incident. Police did not identify the victim or the person in custody.

Wicomico County

Plan to crack down on homes' look stalls

SALISBURY --A proposal allowing Wicomico County home inspectors to fine residents who don't maintain their homes' appearance has stalled. The County Council put the amendment on hold last week.
