Upper Chesapeake cancels physicals

Upper Chesapeake HealthLink has canceled student physicals that were scheduled for this month.

Physicals were scheduled for Wednesday in the Medical Mobile Van at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center's parking lot in Bel Air, and July 22 and July 29 at the HealthLink Community Wellness Center, 626A Revolution St., Havre de Grace.

3-part health course set at HCC Tuesday

Harford Community College is offering a one-day series of health courses with instructor Greta Brand.

"Diabetes Update" will teach participants how to control their diabetes through exercise and medicines and understand the impact of blood pressure and stress on this condition.

"Lower Your Stress Right Now" will show five basics for lowering stress. Students can learn how to heighten self-esteem, develop emotional flexibility and enhance the body's ability to fight stress.

"What is Your Anger IQ?" will teach easy ways to make small changes that will keep anger to a minimum.

All courses will be held Tuesday at Edgewood Hall on the HCC campus. Classes are two hours and scheduled consecutively beginning at 9 a.m.

The cost is $45 for all three courses, or $19 each.

Screenings offered at farmers' market

Upper Chesapeake Health will offer free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings for $10, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bel Air Farmers' Market.

Miracles are subject of one-day course

Upper Chesapeake Health will offer a "Course in Miracles" from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 20.

Jon Mundy will present "The Psychology and Metaphysics of a Course in Miracles and Standup Philosophy" as Dr. Baba Jon Mundane.
