St. Margaret's hosts joust and craft fair

St. Margaret's Church will host a Ring Joust and Country Craft fair from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at 1601 Pleasant Plains Road, Annapolis.

The fair will feature vendors, crafters, home-baked goods, refreshments, face painting and entertainment for children.

Jousting is a historical event practiced since the Civil War times at St. Margaret's.

The fair will open at 10:30 a.m. and jousting will begin at 11 a.m. with the tournament ending when a winner is crowned.

Admission is $5 per car or $2 per walk-in.

Our Redeemer sale aids Arundel House

A pit beef sandwich sale and a yard sale will be held tomorrow at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer to raise money for the Arundel House of Hope Resource & Day Care Center.

The yard sale starts at 8 a.m., and sandwiches will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is at 7606 Quarterfield Road, Glen Burnie.

Other sandwich and yard sales will be held Aug. 12 and Sept. 9.

The cost will be $4 for a sandwich or $5 for a meal, which includes chips and a beverage.

Youth group raffles playhouses

Our Shepherd Lutheran Church Youth Group will hold a raffle drawing Sunday. The youth group will raffle off two playhouses constructed by the group.

The playhouses can be viewed on the front lawn of the church. One is painted as a log cabin and the other as a stone cottage.

Tickets are $5 and will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 400 Benfield Road.

Participants do not need to be present to win.

The proceeds will benefit Arundel Habitat for Humanity.

`Perfect' exhibit is at Woods Memorial

Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church is showing The Perfect Storm, an art exhibit by Elizabeth Johnson through Sunday in the church gallery at 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park.

The exhibit will feature Johnson's acrylic paintings.

The gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and by appointment only on weekends.

Bingo Blast will be held Sunday

Bingo Blast is being held by the Church of the Good Shepherd at 2 p.m. Sunday at 1451 Furnace Ave., Glen Burnie.

A barbecue platter, coffee, sodas and cards are included for a donation of $20.

Anchor Baptist camp starts Monday

Anchor Baptist Church will host a summer camp Monday through July 14 at Camp Calvary. The cost is $25 and is nonrefundable. Registration is required.

Healing workshop is scheduled July 15

Our Lady of the Chesapeake will present a healing workshop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 15 at 8325 Ventnor Road, Pasadena.

The theme of the seminar is "Healing the Hurts We Don't Deserve;" it will teach about self-healing and forgiveness.

Refreshments will be served. Registration and check-in will begin at 9:15 a.m. The cost is $25, and participants are encouraged to bring a notebook and Bible. All denominations are welcome.

Riva Trace Baptist holds sports camp

Riva Trace Baptist Church will hold its first summer sports camp from 9 a.m. to noon daily July 17 to 21, July 24 to 28 and July 31 to Aug. 4 at 2990 Riva Trace Parkway, Annapolis.

Summer camp is open to children entering first grade through fifth grade.

Participants will learn teamwork, sportsmanship and build character.

Heritage Baptist holds Bible school

Son Treasure Island vacation Bible school will be held at Heritage Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 17 to 21 at 1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis.

Vacation bible school is open to school-age children up to fifth grade.

Bible school will engage children in art, recreation, music and Bible study and will include snacks.

Participants in first through fifth grades will receive free T-shirts and a chance to perform in the grand finale July 21.

Jenkins Memorial offers Bible digs

Jenkins Memorial Church will present Adventure of the Treasure Seekers summer vacation Bible school from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. August 7 to 11 at 133 Riviera Drive, Pasadena.

This lesson will incorporate the world of archaeology into Bible study. There will be daily digs during the "adventure" so children may explore the Bible and locate Scriptures.

St. Andrew's holds Saturday yard sales

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Road, Edgewater, will hold its weekly indoor yard sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Spaces are $10 for a 10-by-10-foot space, and vendors must provide their own tables.
