CHICAGO -- They smiled, they laughed, they sang. The mood in the Orioles' clubhouse yesterday afternoon was as upbeat as it has been all season. The good sentiment from Monday's win over the Chicago White Sox still lingered, if only for a couple more hours.

Not long after yesterday's game had gotten under way, the Orioles, and Rodrigo Lopez specifically, had the smiles knocked off their faces. Well before nightfall, the White Sox provided some early holiday fireworks, ripping Lopez for nine runs in just 2 2/3 innings, on their way to a 13-0 rout before 37,300 at U.S. Cellular Field.
