Kelly Clarkson: Too busy to `Idol'-lize

MIAMI -- Kelly Clarkson talks fast, "fasterthana- speedingbullet" fast. This turns out to be a good thing. Today's Queen of Pop, who performs at the Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Va., tomorrow, is giving you 15 minutes of her time, hardly long enough to get beyond the butter-'em-up pleasantries and into the hard questions like: "Why did you stop American Idol from using your songs this season?"

But Clarkson, personable, polite and poised on her cell phone, multi-tasks well, exhibiting all the youthful, agreeable traits that made her the first and still biggest American Idol. She's tooling around Dallas-Fort Worth in a car with her brother Jason, and with her zippy cadence could probably summarize her experience on Idol, recount her many hits, talk about her concerts and why she loves Reba McEntire and, if she so desired, still have five minutes left to pop into a supermarket for a bottle of the Vitamin Water she cherishes (and advertises).

If you go, Kelly Clarkson performs at Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Va., at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow. Tickets are $75. Go to
