NANCY ANNE, a former resident of Baltimore, MD, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, in Owasso, OK at the age of 62 years. She was born June 22, 1943, in Baltimore, MD, to Roland Bartlett and Sarah (Sally) Anne (O'Donnell) Colgan. The oldest of their five children, she graduated from the Institute of Notre Dame High School and continued her education at the Notre Dame College for Women, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. She completed her formal education with a master's degree from Towson State University. Nancy taught social studies at Western High School for 31 years and touched the lives of thousands of girls many of whom became prominent leaders in the community. She moved to Owasso, OK to be near her sister, Mary, and made many new friends in Oklahoma. Loving family members include 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Kollmorgen and her husband, Steve of Tulsa, Helen Colgan of Pacifica, CA and her husband, Jack Tipple; 1 brother, Bart Colgan and his wife, Patty of Phoenix, MD; 1 niece; several nephews; dear cousins; and many dear friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 sister, Victoria Jane Colgan. A memorial service was held in Owasso, OK. There will be celebration of Nancy's life with family and friends in Towson, MD in late July. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 43025, Baltimore, MD 21236.
