Tech Council to hold Comcast BBQ

The Anne Arundel Tech Council will hold its second annual Comcast BBQ on the Bay Members Tech Expo from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 12 at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis.

This year's event will be open to everyone.

The cost is $45 for members, and $55 for nonmembers and at the door.

Chamber plans networking event

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will have an informal networking event.

The chamber will hold an After Hours Mixer from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 13 at the Carefree Boat Club, 2830 Solomons Island Road, Suite 303C.

The cost is $10 with paid advance registration, $15 at the door, and $25 for nonmembers.

Primo names Stone as president

Primo Electric Co. has named John R. Stone as president of the company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Integrated Electrical Services, based in Glen Burnie.

Stone holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and an MBA. He joined IES in January.

He is moving here from Signal Mountain, Tenn.

Severn man named board chairman

A Severn businessman and community leader has taken the helm of Baltimore Washington Medical Center's board.

Melvin Kelly became board chairman, replacing Lysbeth Courtney.

Kelly will oversee several projects including construction of a new patient tower.

Kelly is a general partner at Severn-based MRK Services. He is chairman of the board of trustees of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore.

Booz Allen Hamilton opens new facility

Booz Allen Hamilton opened its newest office facility at 304 Sentinel Drive in Annapolis Junction.

The office will accommodate 750 staff and house a technology laboratory, conference center and three floors of secure office space.
