CAROL SPRANKLIN of Dover passed away Friday June 30, 2006 in her home. She was 62. Mrs. Spranklin was born June 2, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland to Dorothy Marie Makosky of Baltimore and the late Milton G. Makosky. Mrs. Spranklin was the Department Head of Reading at the Delaware Technical Community College - Terry Campus, and taught English/Reading at DTCC-Georgetown and Terry Campuses, she was dedicated to her job and fellow employees. Mrs. Spranklin loved to read and enjoyed the company of her dogs. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and very active in the church circles. Mrs. Spranklin is survived by her husband of 33 years, Peter A. Spranklin of Dover; two sons, Dr. David B. Spranklin and his wife Dr. Kristin Kline of Pullman, WA, Michael J. Spranklin of Dover; two daughters, Laura J. Spranklin and Susanne G. Spranklin both of Erie, PA; a sister, Linda E. Dickson and her husband Frederick, or Portland, OR and one grandson, Mitchell D. Spranklin. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday July 3, 2006 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State Street, Dover, DE. Friends may call Sunday evening from 7-9 PM at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made to the Salvation Army, DHQ, 814 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21230 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, 19901.
