Spiritual health, healing meeting

The Christian Science Society will hold its monthly meeting at noon and 8 p.m. Wednesday at 101 First Ave., S.E., Glen Burnie. The focus this month will be on examining a spiritual approach to health and healing. 410-766-9390 or 410-242-5014.

St. Margaret's holds ring joust

St. Margaret's Church will host a Ring Joust and Country Craft fair from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8 at 1601 Pleasant Plains Road, Annapolis.

The country craft fair will feature a variety of vendors, crafters, home-baked goods, refreshments, face painting and entertainment for children.

The jousting is a historical event practiced since Civil War times at St. Margaret's.

The fair will open at 10:30 a.m. and the jousting will begin at 11 a.m. with the tournament ending when a winner is crowned.

Admission is $5 per car or $2 per walk-in. Information: 410-947-0200

Our Redeemer hosts yard sale

A pit beef sandwich sale and a yard sale will be held July 8 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer to raise money for the Arundel House of Hope Resource & Day Care Center.

The yard sale opens at 8 a.m., and sandwiches will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is at 7606 Quarterfield Road, Glen Burnie.

The next sandwich and yard sales will be held on Aug. 12 and Sept. 9.

The cost will be $4 for a sandwich or $5 for a meal, which includes chips and a beverage.

Habitat raffles two outdoor playhouses

Our Shepherd Lutheran Church Youth Group will hold a raffle drawing July 9. The youth group will raffle two outdoor playhouses constructed by the group.

The playhouses can be viewed on the front lawn of the church or in the Severna Park Centennial Parade on July 4, one painted as a log cabin, the other a stone cottage.

Tickets are $5 and will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at 400 Benfield Road.

Participants do not need to be present to win.

The proceeds will benefit Arundel Habitat for Humanity.

Woods Memorial shows art exhibit

Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church is showing "The Perfect Storm," an art exhibit by Elizabeth Johnson through July 9 in the church gallery at 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park.

The exhibit will feature Johnson's acrylic paintings.

The gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and by appointment only on weekends.

Bingo Blast held at Good Shepherd

Bingo Blast is being held by the Church of the Good Shepherd at 2 p.m. July 9 at 1451 Furnace Ave., Glen Burnie.

A barbecue platter, coffee, sodas and cards are included for a donation of $20.

Heritage Baptist runs Bible school

Son Treasure Island Vacation Bible School will be held at Heritage Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the week of July 17 to 21 at 1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis.

VBS is open to school-aged children up to fifth grade.

Bible school will engage children in art, recreation, music, Bible study and will include snacks.

Participants in first through fifth grade will receive free T-shirts and a chance to perform in the grand finale July 21.

This event is free. Registration is required.

St. Andrew's holds Saturday yard sales

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Road, Edgewater, will hold its weekly indoor yard sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Spaces are $10 for a 10-by-10-foot space, and vendors must provide their own tables.
