Thomas Hartley Marshall Jr., 93, sales executive

Thomas Hartley Marshall Jr., a retired engineering sales executive, died of congestive heart failure June 20 at Easton Memorial Hospital. The former Ruxton resident was 93.

Born in Havre de Grace and raised in Harford County on Glebe Farm and on Lanvale Street in Baltimore, he was a 1931 graduate of Boys' Latin School and earned an engineering degree from the Johns Hopkins University. He belonged to the Tau Beta Pi engineering fraternity.

Mr. Marshall joined General Electric Co. in 1935 as salesman. He retired in 1977 as an area manager selling nuclear power plant equipment. He then moved to Talbot County.

He was a member of the Bachelors Cotillon and the State Society of the Cincinnati of Pennsylvania. He was a past president of L'Hirondelle Club in Ruxton.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. July 5 at William Hill Manor, 501 Dutchmans Lane, Easton.

Survivors include a son, T. Hartley Marshall III, and a daughter, Eleanora Lee Marshall, both of Baltimore; and nieces and nephews. His wife of 56 years, the former Eleanora O'Donnell Lee, an artist, died in 1999.
