Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Baltimore

Eastern

Arson -- A 1988 white Ford utility truck parked in the 1700 block of Holbrook St. was set ablaze about 2:25 a.m. Sunday by a man seen fleeing from the vehicle.

Northern

Armed robbery -- A man approached a cashier at the Family Dollar store in the 5600 block of The Alameda about 5 p.m. Monday and asked for change for pennies, police said. When the cashier opened the register, the man displayed a black semiautomatic handgun and fled with an unknown amount of money.

Southeastern

Shooting -- A 23-year-old man was chased and shot in a leg and the left thigh by an unknown person in the 200 block of N. Bond St. about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Armed robbery -- A pizza delivery man was robbed of $60 and two large pizzas he was bringing to what proved to be a vacant dwelling in the 200 block of N. Rose St. about midnight Sunday. Someone called in the order, giving the address where the victim was accosted by four males - two of them armed with shotguns or rifles.

Theft -- A 25-year-old woman walking in the 3000 block of E. Lombard St. about 7:30 p.m. Sunday was approached by four juveniles riding bicycles, one of whom snatched her purse containing $65 and personal papers.

Baltimore County

Essex

Armed robbery -- A man entered a 7-Eleven store in the 200 block of Back River Neck Road about 6 a.m. Monday, lifted his T-shirt and showed a black handgun. The man asked the attendant to give him money, and fled with an undisclosed sum.

Armed robbery -- A man approached a checkout counter at a CVS store in the first block of Compass Road about 9:45 p.m. Sunday with a pack of batteries and then brandished a handgun. The man asked for money and fled with $139.

Burglary -- Someone entered a home in the 9900 block of DeHavilland Way through a kitchen window late Sunday afternoon and stole $700 in coins.

Parkville

Burglary -- An intruder stole items from purses after opening unlocked sliding doors of two neighboring townhouses in the first block of Bellhurst Way between 11 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Credit cards and $680 were taken from a purse in one house, and $70 and credit cards from a purse in the other.

White Marsh

Burglary -- Someone opened a door to a home in the 4200 block of Overtone Ave. between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday and stole a 2004 Honda dirt bike.
