Stover, Richard Edson

RICHARD EDSON STOVER, a World War II veteran and retiree from the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company after 38 years of service, died in Estero, Florida, on June 15, 2006. He was 80. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Evelyn Ruth Stover (nee Merchant); devoted father of Joanne and the late Richard Monroe Stover; Keith E. and Susan A. Stover, Deborah K. and Barry S. Brewer; D. June and the late Daniel J. Manzo, Jr.; Philip K. and Georgia Stover; loving grandfather (Pop-Pop) of Michael, Rusty, Amy, Lindsey, Allison and Katherine Stover; Barry Brewer; Tiffany Brewer Reich; Kristen and Daniel Manzo; and loving great grandfather of Kyle and Amelia. He was a dedicated volunteer, serving many PTA boards and community organizations and was the Center Director of the Riderwood Recreation Center from the mid-1960's to 1980. He was also a Member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge; Past Captain of the Boumi Temple Arab Patrol and member of the Boumi Temple Shepherd Club. An avid camper, he spent many happy years traveling with the Owl Campers. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Towson United Methodist Church, 501 Hampton Lane, Towson, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Moriah Lodge Charitable Fund, Inc., 507 West Chesapeake Avenue, Towson, MD 21204 or to the American Cancer Society in memory of Richard Monroe Stover.
