Center announces two trips in August
Pascal Senior center has announced these trips:
Aug. 10, to the Inner Harbor with buffet at Phillips Restaurant and sightseeing at Top of the World in the World Trade Center. Sightseeing will also include a tour of downtown on The Duck, an amphibious vehicle.
Aug. 17, to the Butterfly Conservatory at Brookside Gardens, Wheaton. Lunch will be at Mr. K's Tollhouse.

Today. 1 p.m., Caribbean party with Johnny Walker. Registration.
Today, 9:30 a.m. to noon, free blood pressure and glucose screenings.
Tomorrow, 6 a.m., trip to Deale for a day of fishing. Price of the trip is $50, which includes pole and bait. Bring hat, lunch, drinks and cooler for fish. Registration.
Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., flea market.
Monday and Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., AARP Safe Driving Course. Fee: $10, payable at time of registration.

Seniors sought to teach life skills
The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging is seeking "volunteer grandparents" to work with children 15 to 20 hours a week. Activities include mentoring, tutoring and giving advice on life skills, with extra attention for children in Head Start, special education or living in shelters and family-support centers.
Participants must be income-eligible and at least 60 years old. Benefits include a tax-free stipend, paid training, free transportation, sick leave, lunches and medical exams.
