TODAY

ABERDEEN ANNEXATION -- A public hearing on the proposed annexation by Aberdeen of more than 1,000 acres will be held at 6 p.m. during a City Council meeting at City Hall, 60 N. Parke St., Aberdeen.

ARUNDEL COUNCIL -- The Anne Arundel County Council will meet at 7 p.m. at 44 Calvert St., Annapolis. Items on the agenda include a gasoline surcharge and passenger fee for taxicabs, the Board of Education budget, and a Verizon cable franchise application. 410-222-1401.

TOMORROW

URBAN CIRCUS -- The UniverSoul Circus will open with a performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Security Square Mall parking lot, 6901 Security Blvd. Other performances by the urban-styled circus will be given at various times through Sunday. Tickets are $10 to $35. 410-547-SEAT or www.ticket master.com.

WEDNESDAY

ARMY BAND CONCERT -- The 389th Army Band, based at Aberdeen Proving Ground, will give an outdoor concert at 7 p.m. at Maryland State Police Headquarters, 1201 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville. The concert will honor state police employees who have been called into active military service. Admission is free. 410-484-2337.

FRIDAY

SCIENCE CENTER CELEBRATES -- The Maryland Science Center will mark its 30th anniversary beginning with a free outdoor screening of E.T. on the giant screen at dusk. Visitors should bring a blanket or chair. The center is at 601 Light St.

CHAMBER MUSIC -- The University of Maryland School of Music's National Orchestral Institute will offer two free performances at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, College Park. SATURDAY

LATINOFEST -- LatinoFest, one in a series of Baltimore's Showcase of Nations ethnic festivals, will take place from noon to 10 p.m. in Patterson Park at Eastern and South Linwood avenues.
