Local TW Perry store opening soon

TW Perry, a lumber and building materials dealer with five locations in the Washington area, will open a store in Linthicum this summer.

The new store will help serve customers in the Baltimore and Annapolis areas, and is located at 808 Central Ave., inside I-695 and north of Route 295.

TW Perry operates stores in Chevy Chase and Gaithersburg. The company also owns Classic Moulding & Door, a Jessup-based designer and manufacturer of doors and millwork products.

Barrett named chef of Treaty of Paris

James Barrett, of Southern Anne Arundel County, is the new chef at the Treaty of Paris restaurant, inside The Maryland Inn. His restaurant career started at age 14 at Pirate's Cove restaurant in Deale.

Before joining the Treaty of Paris restaurant, Barrett's work included Latilla Restaurant at the Boulders Resort and the Scottsdale Princess in Arizona.

The Treaty of Paris is at 58 State Circle, Annapolis. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.

Bozzuto picks Crosby Marketing

The Bozzuto Group, one of the region's real estate companies, has selected Crosby Marketing and Communications as its agency of record.

Crosby will work with the Bozzuto Group to develop a company-wide positioning and branding effort to promote properties in five states.

Established in 1988, the Bozzuto Group provides a broad range of real estate services for third-party owners as well as for its own account.

Crosby Marketing Communications provides integrated advertising, public relations and direct-response and interactive services to regional and national markets in a variety of industries.

Hyatt Commercial picks vice president

Joseph M. Brown, a resident of Pasadena, has been appointed vice president of property management for Hyatt Commercial Management Co.

Brown has 22 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate management and construction throughout the Baltimore- Washington-Northern Virginia region. He will oversee day-to-day operations for the entire portfolio of properties managed by Hyatt.

Hyatt Property Management is part of Hyatt Real Estate, a Severn Bancorp company, that handles over 800,000 square feet of commercial office and retail space and more than 150 residential units.

Habitat develops housing partnership

Arundel Habitat for Humanity and Arundel Federal Savings Bank began a five-year, $100,000 partnership to develop affordable housing in the Brooklyn-Curtis Bay community.

Arundel Habitat is in the process of restoring 10 rowhouses in Brooklyn and Curtis Bay. The houses will be paired with partner families and sold at cost, with a no-interest mortgage.

Arundel Federal, with headquarters on Patapsco Avenue in Brooklyn, has been an active supporter of Arundel Habitat in its work to make home ownership possible for low-income families.

Severn Bancorp tops financial rankings

Annapolis-based Severn Bancorp Inc. has been named top financial performer out of the nation's 100 largest thrifts by analyst group SNL Financial for the second straight year.

Severn, which has three branches and $860 million in assets, tied with the much larger TrustCo Bank Corp NY for first place in SNL's annual rankings.

This year's ranking is based on data reported in 2005.

Sales vice president appointed for Hyatt

Jack P. Kelly, a resident of Annapolis, has been appointed vice president/director of sales and leasing for Hyatt Commercial Management Co.

Before joining Hyatt, Kelly worked for Carrollton Enterprises, Carey Winston Company and the Kelly Co., which he ran for over 20 years.

He has more than 30 years of real estate experience in sales, leasing, building, syndications, development and property management.
