Blue Jays update

The Orioles and Blue Jays match up for a four-game series after already playing nine times this season. The Orioles are 4-5 in those games. The Blue Jays are especially tough at home, winning 20 of their first 32 at Rogers Centre. Toronto is paced by the majors' best-hitting offense, which includes three players among the league leaders in average: Alex Rios, Shea Hillenbrand and Vernon Wells. The club's .302 average was its highest in club history through 61 games. The pitching, however, hasn't been as good. Projected starters Gustavo Chacin (left elbow) and A.J. Burnett (right elbow) are on the disabled list and former Oriole Josh Towers was demoted to Triple-A Syracuse in May. He may be recalled to pitch Wednesday against the Orioles.
