PERFORMER OF THE YEAR

Andrew Revelle

Atholton

Prior to the Class 2A state championships, Revelle hadn't lost in the 800, 1,600 or 3,200. At the county championships, Revelle, the county's Runner of the Year in cross country and the county's Performer of the Year in indoor track, captured the 1,600 in 4 minutes, 22.02 seconds and the 3,200 in 9:32.91.

The junior picked up victories in those same two events at the West regional meet (4:22.49 in the 1,600 and 9:30.53 in the 3,200) as well as a win in the 800 (1:59.51). Even though Howard sophomore Joey Thompson out-kicked Revelle in the 1,600 and 3,200 at the state championships, Revelle had defeated Thompson in 11 pervious head-to-head meetings during the winter and spring.

COACH OF THE YEAR

David Glenn

Howard

After guiding the Lions to a runner-up finish at the county championships, Glenn led them to the Class 2A South regional title and the state title.

The Lions' 11-point margin over second-place Kent Island helped them take home the school's first state championship since 1985.
