Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Homicide arrest -- Antoine Devonn, 20, of the 3000 block of Rockwood Ave. was arrested yesterday in the 5700 block of Bland Ave. on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder in the May 23 shooting of a 19-year-old woman. The victim, Whitney Wiley of the 2400 block of Everton Road, was shot in the head in the 5700 block of Winner Ave. and left at the entrance to the emergency room at Sinai Hospital by unknown persons who drove away in a car. Wiley, the mother of a 5-month-old, died the next day.

Armed robbery -- A gunman robbed a 37-year-old Hampden woman of her purse containing $40, a cell phone, an ATM card, a debit card and personal identification about 6 p.m. Sunday as she was about to enter her car on the rear parking lot of the Rotunda shopping center in the 700 block of W. 40th St. Less than an hour later, the woman's debit card was used five times to purchase fuel at various gas stations. Anyone with information was asked to call the district's robbery squad at 410-396-2455.


Homicide arrest -- Christopher Ward, 22, of the 1700 block of E. 25th St. was arrested yesterday in the 2100 block of Guilford Ave. on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder in the Feb. 28 shootings of Donte Bellamy, 22, and Duraye Cole, 36, in the 1600 block of E. 25th St.


Homicide arrest -- Melvin Faulkner, 45, of the 4200 block of Euclid Ave. was arrested Friday in Clinton, N.C., by members of the U.S. Marshals Service and Clinton police on a Baltimore warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Faulkner is accused of shooting Pierre Alston, 26, on May 5 in the 3600 block of Edmondson Ave. Faulkner was being held in a North Carolina jail pending an extradition hearing.

Arrest -- Ronnell Nance, 20, of the 1900 block of Wilhelm St. was arrested Friday at St. Agnes Hospital while being treated for conjunctivitis. Nance is accused of robbing Ronald Meyer in the 5300 block of Carriage Court on May 31. Four other men were being sought in the robbery.


Arrest -- Devin Coward, 23, of the 1100 block of Harlem Ave. was arrested Friday in the 800 block of N. Fremont Ave. on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Coward is charged with shooting Adam Robinson, 20, in the 500 block of N. Fremont Ave. on May 26.

Robbery -- A gunman robbed KFC in the 2500 block of W. Franklin St. of an undisclosed sum of money about 7 p.m. Monday.

Theft -- Police were seeking several young boys who entered the backyard of a house in the 2800 block of Parkwood Ave. on Sunday and stole a pit bull puppy.


Stabbing -- Two men were arguing Monday in a house they shared in the 500 block of N. Robinson St. when one stabbed the other in the left leg, sprayed him in the face with a chemical irritant and kicked him. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital. A warrant was issued for the other man's arrest.

Burglary -- Someone broke into Filippo's Restaurant in the 400 block of S. Conkling St. early Sunday through a side bay door and stole more than $600.

Burglary -- While the occupant was in a nursing home, someone entered a house in the 300 block of Joplin St. between May 1 and Saturday through a basement door and stole costume jewelry and several World War II service medals.


Robbery try -- Police were seeking a gunman who attempted to rob two women in the 600 block of Portland St. about 10:45 p.m. Sunday before riding off on a bicycle.

Theft -- A global positioning satellite device and DVD player were stolen Monday from a 2006 Toyota Solara parked in the 1700 block of Beason St. They were valued at $1,600.

Burglary -- Construction tools and equipment valued at $700 were stolen over the weekend from a garage in the 200 block of Grinnalds Ave.

Theft -- A watch and computer equipment - all valued at $550 - were stolen Sunday from a 1999 Jeep parked in the 1000 block of S. Charles St.

Baltimore County


Burglary -- A 6.75-horsepower lawnmower was stolen from the rear yard of a house in the 6300 block of Beechwood Road on May 31. The theft was reported Monday.


Robbery -- A gunman entered the office at Dunkin' Donuts in the 5200 block Baltimore National Pike about 4 a.m. Sunday and removed a bag containing an undisclosed sum of money from the manager's desk.

White Marsh

Robbery -- A gunman robbed the Exxon station in the 8100 block of Belair Road of an undisclosed sum of cash and $30 worth of prepaid telephone cards about 4 a.m. Sunday.


Robbery -- About 1 a.m. Sunday, a gunman entered Walgreens in the 400 block of Compass Road and ordered a clerk to give him the contents of a cash register. The man fled with an undisclosed sum.


Theft -- An American flag and a flag with the words "Bless This Nest" were stolen between May 26 and Sunday from the front porch of a house in the 900 block of Saxon Hill Drive.

Burglary -- Several handguns, rifles and shotguns - all valued at $30,800 - were stolen between May 21 and Sunday from a safe in a garage in the 14000 block of Manor Road.
