Michelle Donadio

The senior thrived in the distance events. At the Baltimore County championships, Donadio captured the 800 in 2 minutes, 20.3 seconds, the 1,600 in 5:07.02 and the 3,200 in 11:08.4.

She won the same three events at the Class 3A North regional meet, taking the 800 in 2:23.37, the 1,600 in 5:13.04 and the 3,200 in 11:26.66. Donadio claimed her first individual state crown in outdoor track when she took the 3,200 in 11:08.91, and she finished fourth in both the 800 and 1,600. Donadio was named the county's Runner of the Year in cross country this past fall. Next year, she will compete in track and field for Towson University.

coaches of the year

Jeff Sanborn and Alrick Munroe

After the Eagles took the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland indoor track crown by a 79-point margin this past winter, some observers began penciling in McDonogh as the outdoor champion.

Sanborn, Munroe and the Eagles did not disappoint, as they breezed to their third consecutive title with 166 points. McDonogh's point total matched the combined point aggregate of the second- and third-place teams at the IAAM championships.
