BOYS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Ted Kelly

Gilman

He was clearly one of the dominant players in public and private schools. Kelly breezed through most of his matches and won the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference title at No. 1 singles. He anchored a Gilman lineup that won the MIAA A Conference team title.

GIRLS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Annie Wu

Bryn Mawr

The junior repeated as Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference champion at No. 1 singles.

Wu won last year in a mild surprise, but she rolled to a straight-set victory over Lindsay Katz from Roland Park in this season's championship round. Wu played a major role in helping the Mawrtians go 11-1 in the regular season last fall.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Shirley Williams

Western

She helped guide the Doves to the city title in co-ed competition -- despite having no boys on the team. Western finished 11-0 in the regular season and took second (behind Poly) in the city tournament.

The Doves often had their girls play against boys -- and the girls rarely lost.
