Brian Farrell

Boys' Latin

Farrell anchored a high-powered Boys' Latin team, which went 21-0 en route to the program's fifth Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference title under 27th-year coach Bob Shriver.

Not only is the Maryland-bound senior an excellent shutdown defender, but he moved with mobility and grace that belied his size (6 feet 5, 230 pounds) to maneuver into the offense for five goals and 10 assists.

Scott Laudeman

In his fourth season, Laudeman, 54, led the Indians to a 12-2 record, including wins over eventual Class 2A-1A state champion Loch Raven and Class 4A-3A state runner-up Dulaney. Franklin avenged an earlier 14-5 loss to Dulaney with a 7-6 win over the Lions in the Baltimore County championship game on May 9.

The victory over Dulaney ended the Lions' 73-game winning streak against county teams that dated back to May 1999. A 1969 graduate of McDonogh, Laudeman, who led the Indians to the Class 3A-2A state title game in 2003 and the regional title game in 2004, has a 46-15 career record.
