Megan Lahner
Westminster
After patiently biding her time behind 2005 Player of the Year Stacy Davis, Lahner took center stage this season and didn't disappoint, leading the Owls to the county championship.
Using a combination of off-speed pitches and risers, the senior overcame early-season arm problems to finish 12-3 with a 0.92 ERA, striking out 124 in 83 innings and walking just nine of the 298 batters she faced.
She also batted .296 with three home runs, four doubles and 14 RBIs. She is set to continue her career at York College.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Kristy Hinkle
Century
In her second year as varsity head coach, Hinkle, 25, led her team - which had never advanced past the regional quarterfinals - to within one game of the Class 2A state finals.
After a bumpy early season, the Knights came alive in the second half, topping eventual county champion Westminster and perennial contender North Carroll and defeating county power Francis Scott Key three times, including a 10-0 win in the Class 2A West regional finals.
The Chambersburg, Pa., native got the most out of her players when it counted, and feels the team's experience in the state playoffs will pay dividends down the road.
