Richard C. Litchfield, 51, veteran, systems analyst

Richard C. Litchfield, a systems analyst who had served in the Marine Corps and the Air Force, died of pneumonia May 30 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. The Bowie resident was 51.

Mr. Litchfield was born in Columbia, N.C., and raised in Elizabeth City, N.C. He served in the Marine Corps from 1973 to 1976.

He earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983 and a master's in administration in 1992 from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Mr. Litchfield enlisted in the Air Force in 1984 and was discharged as a captain in 1996.

For the past decade, Mr. Litchfield had been a systems analyst in Washington for BA Systems.

He was a member of the American Legion post in Glen Burnie, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Officers Association of America and Retired Officers Association.

He enjoyed fishing and boating.

Services were Friday.

Surviving are two daughters, Amber K. Litchfield and Catherine M. Litchfield, both of Bowie; and a brother, Curtis L. Litchfield of Nags Head, N.C. His marriage to Carolyn S. Litchfield ended in divorce.
