John L. Nicol, 32, ran home business

John Lennon Nicol, who had operated a home improvement business for the past five years, died Tuesday at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The Pasadena resident was 32 and had been under treatment for a lung illness.

Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Elberton, Ga., and Jessup, he was a 1991 graduate of Meade High School.

Mr. Nicol worked in home improvement with his father and at various companies before starting his own business in general home improvement.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road in Pasadena.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, the former Stephanie A. Huffman Greer; two sons, Hunter B. Nicol, 5, and Jacob E. Greer, 11; two daughters, Alexa M. Nicol, 6, and Ashley N. Greer, 13; his parents, Patricia R. and Gary W. Wells of Hanover; three sisters, Cori A. Beach of York, Pa., Deborah L. Bozmoff of Pensacola, Fla., and Amy L. Kylus of Crofton; his maternal grandparents, Mary F. and Joe M. Brown Jr. of Elberton, Ga., and paternal grandparents Illean P. and Robert Alex Nicol Sr. of Elkton, Va.
