Village festival

The lowdown -- The annual Charles Village Festival brings a parade, race, garden walk and live music to 29th and Charles streets this weekend. The 5K and Children's 1K Fun Run is at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The parade starts at 25th and St. Paul streets at 10 a.m. Saturday and heads up St. Paul to 33rd Street, then to Charles Street and south to 29th Street. The garden walk is at 11 a.m. Sunday. There will be live bands throughout the weekend.

If you go -- The Charles Village Festival runs 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Race registration is $25 and starts at 7 a.m. at 29th Street and Wyman Park Drive. Bike ride

The lowdown -- This weekend, the Chesapeake Bay Asthma Ride Bike Tour starts and ends at Salisbury University. Riders can pick from a list of routes that run through the state's countrysides and shorelines. The tour benefits the American Lung Association of Maryland.

Music festival

The lowdown -- Marshall Crenshaw and his Power Pop Trio headline the Peaceful Hollow Music Festival at Carroll Community College from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday. There will also be food, children's activities, vendors, craft displays and other bands such as the Crawdaddies, SONiA and disappear fear, the Kennedys, Free Radicals and Outta Scope.
