City man injured jumping onto tracks
A Baltimore man was in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday after jumping in front of a subway car about 7:30 a.m., fire officials said. According to witnesses, the man, whose identity was not released, leapt onto tracks at the Penn North Station in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. and was dragged about 150 feet after being struck, said Fire Department spokesman Kevin Cartwright. He suffered head injuries but was conscious when fire officials arrived.

Bowie man killed in city's 4th homicide
A Bowie man was found fatally shot in a wooded area in Annapolis on Friday night, police said yesterday. Officers responding to a report of an injured person in the 2100 block of Forest Drive found the man dead from a gunshot wound to the head about 11:40 p.m., the Annapolis Police Department said. Police said they believe that two men approached the victim and that an altercation took place. The assailants fled. Police withheld the victim's identity pending notification of relatives.
