`Art in the Park' is Saturday

The Carroll County Arts Council will hold its annual "Art in the Park 2006" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on the grounds of Westminster City Hall off Longwell Avenue.

Nearly 60 artists will participate in the juried art show with paintings, drawings, collages, photographs, fine prints, sculpture and stained glass.

Entertainment will include Greg Pfeiffer at 10:30 a.m., Lydia Martin at 11:45 a.m., Scott Michaels at 1 p.m., Tommy Hard & the Word Band at 2:30 p.m. and Dan Collins at 3:45 p.m.

Free children's craft activities and food vendors also will be featured.

Handbell concert will be June 4

The Westminster Ringers, a handbell ensemble, will present its spring concert, "Spring Into Motion," at 7 p.m. June 4 at the Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster.

Mark Woodworth from WTTR radio will be the host for the concert.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children 5 to 12 and those 60 or older.

They are available at the Arts Center, Coffey Music and at the door.

The ensemble will hold open rings for interested bell ringers June 8 and 15.

Chorale to give spring concert

The Masterworks Chorale of Carroll County will present its spring concert featuring Carl Orff's Carmina Burana at 7 p.m. June 4 at Winters Mill High School, 560 Gorsuch Road, Westminster.

Margaret Boudreaux will conduct, with Patricia Jimenez and Melanie Many on pianos. The Westminster Ballet Theatre, the Children's Chorus of Carroll County and the Westminster High School Percussion Ensemble also will participate.

Tickets are $12 at the door. Students with identification and children will be admitted free if seats are available. Advance tickets are available for $10 from Coffey Music and Stu's Music.
