Howard County police have issued an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old Jessup man they say was involved in two violent incidents that occurred in North Laurel on the same evening in late March.

Andrew Ellicott Scott is facing charges of armed robbery, attempted robbery, assault, theft, reckless endangerment and handgun violations in connection with the incidents.

Police said that on March 31, an 18-year-old man was approached on a residential parking lot near Whiskey Bottom Road and Old Lantern Way about 5 p.m. Police said several assailants attempted to rob him of his keys and vehicle.

Brandished handgun

When the victim attempted to leave in his vehicle, police said, one of the assailants brandished a handgun and told the victim to surrender the automobile. Police added that once the victim left his vehicle, he was assaulted. Police said the attackers then fled and did not steal the vehicle.

Moments later, police said, they received a report that two teenagers were assaulted at Laurel Woods Elementary School on North Laurel Road.

4 others charged

Police said they have charged four other suspects with a variety of assault and robbery charges in the incidents: Michael Quinton Patrick, 20, of District Heights; Gerald Wright, 20, of Savage; and Lavar James Martinez, 18, and Donte Pierre Powell, 19, both of Columbia.

Police urge anyone with information on Scott's whereabouts to call 410-313-3200.
