Two decades ago, Center Stage leapt into the future with the world premiere of Eric Overmyer's account of a trio of Victorian lady time travelers, On the Verge or the Geography of Yearning.

Overmyer went on to write and produce a slew of TV series (St. Elsewhere, Homicide, Law & Order, The Wire), and On the Verge went on to success at regional theaters across the country. Now it has wended its way back to this area at Washington's Arena Stage.

On the Verge Through June 11 at Arena Stage, 1101 Sixth St., S.W., Washington. $41-$60. 202-488-3300 or arenastage.org
