A GEM OF A SHOW

Browse tables of minerals, gems and jewelry at the Chesapeake Gem and Mineral Society's annual gem show at Goucher College Saturday. Mineral dealers, jewelry makers and other craftspeople will display their fossils, crystals and minerals and will demonstrate stone-cutting, stone-carving and wax- model-making. There will also be educational exhibits, hands-on activities and minerals given to children.

Hear a sobering Memorial Day concert by the U.S. Navy Band Monday in Washington. The band presents an evening concert at the U.S. Navy Memorial in honor of fallen comrades.

AT THE CIRCLE OF THE IMMORTALS

On Monday, visitors to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens can pay homage to fallen soldiers at a Memorial Day service.

Beginning at 11 a.m. at the Circle of the Immortals, the 229th Maryland Army National Guard Band and Maryland Sings will perform music, retired Vietnam War reporter Joseph Nawrozki will deliver the keynote address and dignitaries and politicians, including Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. and Maj. Gen. Bruce F. Tuxill, will participate in the commemoration.

ANTIQUE TRUCKIN'

Truck on over to Carroll Park today through Saturday for the Antique Truck Show. This year's show, presented by the American Truck Historical Society, includes hundreds of antique trucks, vendor booths, a vintage remote radio broadcast van with music, an old calliope, other live entertainment and food. A Model-T club will dismantle a car, put it back together and drive off in it, in just 10 minutes.
