Mariners update

The Mariners took two of three at Camden Yards in late April. Moyer, tonight's starter, earned his only win of the season in that series. Moyer is now 17-3 with a 2.99 ERA vs. his former team. The Orioles beat Thursday's starter, Meche, in the same series. Young fireballers Rafael Soriano (2.84 ERA) and J.J. Putz (1.96 ERA) have displaced Eddie Guardado as the team's primary late-inning relievers. After getting off to a slow start, Ichiro Suzuki has improved his average to .314, with three hits yesterday. Second baseman Jose Lopez, 22, has been a pleasant surprise with a .522 slugging percentage. Japanese import Kenji Johjima has also excelled with a .288 average, five homers and 24 RBIs. Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre have seven homers between them.
