Boy charged with attempted murder

A 14-year-old Carroll County boy has been charged with stabbing his half-brother during an altercation in a cornfield after a party, Maryland State Police said. The boy was charged as a juvenile with attempted second-degree murder. Police said the victim, Jeffrey J. Woodward, 19, of Trail Court in Westminster was stabbed several times and was found lying on a road late Friday. Police said he was in critical condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Two teens killed in Route 29 crash

Two teenagers were killed yesterday in a collision that involved three other vehicles, Montgomery County police said. Lensay Kassa, 17, and Desariee Pumphrey, 16, were riding with three other people when their car was hit by another vehicle on southbound Route 29 near Briggs Chaney Road, police said. Their car hit another vehicle and the median strip before stopping. The other people in the car were treated for injuries, police said.
