Marley Station sets flag celebration

Marley Station in Glen Burnie will hold "An Old Glory*ous Celebration" to encourage shoppers to raise the American flag on Flag Day, June 14.

The celebration will begin Memorial Day weekend, May 26-29, and conclude on Flag Day. Information: 410-766-2033.

Take One launches two local Web sites

The Annapolis-based media design firm Take One Digital Media has recently launched two Web sites for area companies.

AirWave Networks Inc. and PBI Inc. hired Take One to redesign their Web sites.

Take One offers video, film, multimedia production, Web and print design, and commercial Web hosting.

Maryland Inn renovates rooms

The Maryland Inn has undergone room renovations. The goal was to preserve the best of the old while bringing an appealing, updated approach to each building.

Renovations included the refurbishment of 51 guest rooms.

Karen Renee does project for patients

Karen Renee Interior Design Inc. of Severna Park has completed the final phase of interior design for an apartment occupied by the Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation.

The project took Karen Osborne, president of Karen Renee Interior Design Inc., and her design associates six months.

The apartment will provide housing to pediatric patients and their families who travel across the United States for treatment at Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

Marriott opens 120-suite hotel

Marriott International Inc. has opened a 120-suite hotel outside Annapolis, the Springhill Suites by Marriott.

Rebuilding Together names new head

Terri M. Peters has been hired as executive director of Rebuilding Together - Anne Arundel County Inc. She resides in Baltimore with her husband, Andrew.

Peters, 25, is a graduate of Old Mill High School. She was the sale support training manager of Dynasplint Systems of Severna Park, managing 24 sales support representatives.

Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help the needy keep warm, safe, dry and independent.

Sutton named CEO of Opti-Fi Networks

Opti-Fi Networks Ltd. has announced the appointment of George E. Sutton to chief executive officer.

Sutton brings more than 20 years of telecommunication management experience to the organization. He previously served as chief operating officer at MobileStar Network and executive vice president of In-Flight Phone.

Opti-Fi Networks helps airports provide broadband Internet access and roaming capability for patrons' portable devices and computers.

Severn Bancorp a top performer

For the second year, Annapolis-based Severn Bancorp Inc. has been named top financial performer out of the nation's 100 largest thrifts by analyst group SNL Financial LC.

Annapolis-based Severn, which has three branches and $860 million in assets, tied with TrustCo Bank Corp NY for first place in SNL's annual ranking.

This year's ranking, announced last week, is based on data reported in 2005.
