Administrative board meeting set

The Carroll County Board of Education will hold an administrative meeting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 007 of the board offices, 125 N. Court St., Westminster.

The regular meeting agenda will be posted at www.carrollk12.org.

Meetings will be broadcast live on CETV, Channel 21 on Adelphia cable TV, and repeated at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sunday and the following Thursday, and 9 a.m. Saturday.

Board candidate workshop slated

Superintendent of Schools Charles I. Ecker and the Board of Education will hold a board candidate workshop at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Room 007 of the board offices, 125 N. Court St., Westminster.

The workshop will cover all aspects of being a Board of Education member, including the responsibilities and expectations of this elected office from current members.

Anyone who is considering becoming a candidate for a Board of Education position is encouraged to attend.

Prospective candidates who plan to attend the workshop are asked to call the superintendent's office at 410-751-3128.

Public is invited on spring break trip

Carroll Community College will hold its spring break 2007 trip for nine days to Germany and Austria.

The public is invited to join faculty, staff and students on the trip, which departs March 29. Registration is being accepted through Oct. 31.

The basic package includes round-trip airfare, seven overnight hotel stays, European breakfast and dinner daily, a tour director, four sightseeing tours, four visits to attractions, a walking tour and an orientation tour.

College credit is offered: Three credits are available in HUMT-160, HIST-160, or ENGL-160.

The cost to travelers 22 and younger is $1,689, and it is $1,979 for those over 22. An optional Budapest extension costs $259 for students and $309 for non-students.
