Woods Memorial to offer program

Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church will present the program Mission, Justice and Peace Is Our Calling from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow at 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park.

This program will be led by the Rev. Dr. Fahed Abu-Akel, who will discuss people's roles as Christians and Americans, and peace talks with Israel and the Palestinians.

The event is open to the public, and child care will be provided. Registration is required.

Substance abuse meetings at center

Substance abuse meetings and counseling will be held at 6 p.m. Fridays and Sundays, and 7 p.m. Saturdays, at Chesapeake Christian Center, 7975 Tick Neck Road, Pasadena. Men and women of all ages are welcome.

Brooklyn United to hold basket bingo

Brooklyn United Methodist Church will hold basket bingo at 1 p.m. Sunday at Roland Terrace Democratic Club, 619 Matthews Ave., Brooklyn Park.

This event will include 20 regular games, special games and raffles.

Refreshments will be sold.

Proceeds will help fund the church's charitable services.

The cost will be $15 in advance and $18 at the door.

Groundbreaking at Beth Shalom

There will be a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new sanctuary at Temple Beth Shalom at 11 a.m. Sunday at 1461 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Arnold.

This event will correlate with the last day of religious school and the year-end religious festival.

The family-friendly festival will include games, a moon bounce and a cookout. The event is open to the public.

Jenkins Memorial sets talent auction

Jenkins Memorial Church will hold a talent auction at 5 p.m. Sunday at 133 Riviera Drive, Pasadena.

Among the auction items will be dog grooming, landscaping services, artwork, stained-glass panels, home evaluation, monthly van service for a year, a cleaning service, Ocean City weekend getaways and a hair salon's services.

Proceeds will fund church-sponsored programs.

Child care will be provided, and refreshments will be served.

Indoor yard sale in Glen Burnie

The Community Church of God will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 27 at 306 5th Ave., Glen Burnie. No rental spaces or tables are available.

Lunch will be available for purchase.

Proceeds will benefit the missionaries here and abroad.

Musical fundraiser at Unity by the Bay

Unity by the Bay will have a musical fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 3 at 836 Ritchie Highway, Suite 18, Severna Park.

Greg Martins will provide the entertainment.

All proceeds will benefit Unity by the Bay.

Continuing events include: silent unity prayer time at noon, Monday through Thursday; meditation from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays; and "A Course in Miracles" from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays.

Free choir concert at Jenkins Memorial

Joshua Community Praise Choir will present a concert at Jenkins Memorial Church at 7 p.m. June 4 at 133 Riviera Drive, Pasadena.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Christian Science Society, 101 First Ave. S.E., Glen Burnie, will have meetings on spiritual healing at noon and 8 p.m. June 7.

Strawberry festival and flea market

Jenkins Memorial Church will hold its annual strawberry festival and flea market from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 10 at 133 Riviera Drive, Pasadena.

A continental breakfast will be available from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., and lunch will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vendors and crafters are being sought for this event.

The cost is $10 for a space with a table and $7 for a space without.

Sandwich, yard sale set for June 10

A pit beef sandwich sale and yard sale will be held June 10 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer to raise money for the Arundel House of Hope Resource & Day Care Center.

The yard sale opens at 8 a.m., and sandwiches will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is at 7606 Quarterfield Road, Glen Burnie.

The cost will be $4 for a sandwich or $5 for a meal, which includes chips and a beverage.
