Pounding R. Lopez, Red Sox extend streak over O's behind Beckett

Red Sox 11 Orioles 1

They weren't playing Kansas City anymore. That was obvious last night to Rodrigo Lopez, who paid for his every mistake; to the Orioles' lineup, which found base hits extremely difficult to come by; and to the home fans, who had little to cheer about and would have been likely drowned out by Boston Red Sox supporters anyway.

The latest contest between the Orioles and Red Sox went much like they always seem to at Camden Yards. Red Sox starter Josh Beckett overwhelmed Orioles hitters, Lopez was pounded yet again in his worst performance of a highly disappointing season and the Orioles fell, 11-1, before 25,607.

Red Sox@Orioles Tonight, 7:05, Comcast SportsNet, 1090 AM Starters: Red Sox's Curt Schilling (5-2, 3.76) vs. Orioles' Bruce Chen (0-4, 8.42)
