Nextel All-Star Open and Nextel All-Star Challenge

When -- Saturday, 7:30 p.m. (Open) and 9 p.m. (Challenge)

TV -- FX (7 p.m.)

Track -- Lowe's Motor Speedway (1.5-mile quad-oval)

Format -- The winner of the 30-lap Nextel Open advances to the Nextel All-Star Challenge. The All-Star Challenge is a 90-lap dash for $1 million made up of three segments - two 40-lap runs followed by a 10-lap sprint. Between each of the segments, the field must make pit stops.

Field -- In addition to the winner of the Open, the Challenge field includes drivers who won a Nextel Cup points race in 2004 or 2005, former All-Star Challenge champions and Nextel Cup series champions who remain active and one driver chosen by an Internet fan vote.

2005 Open winner -- Brian Vickers

2005 Challenge winner -- Mark Martin

Last year -- Martin beat Elliott Sadler and Vickers to the checkered flag as only 10 of 22 drivers finished on the lead lap in the All-Star Challenge.
