The opponent, the lowly Kansas City Royals, hardly mattered. The Orioles preferred to dwell on other topics, anyway.
The important thing was that they had gotten a rare seven-inning outing from a starting pitcher and won a game started by an opposing left-hander for just the third time this season. And for the first time in about two weeks, the Orioles have a winning streak, albeit a modest two in a row.
