Permit Application Center -- 410-222-7700 Accepts, reviews, and issues all permits for land development and construction activities. Status of an application can be obtained by calling the 24-hour Automated Response System at 410-222-7700.

Inspections Services -- 410- 222-7784 Inspects construction projects to verify compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical code requirements. To contact an inspector or obtain project information call 410-222-7784.

Environmental Programs -- 410-222-7780 Inspects projects to verify compliance with environmental code requirements. Also responds to sediment control violations, illegal clearing of woodland and improper grading. To report an emergency after working hours call the Environmental Hotline. The Environmental Hotline will contact an on-call inspector after weekday hours and on weekends. Call the Environmental Hotline at 410-222-7777.

Zoning Enforcement -- 410-222-7446 Regulates signs, the outside storage of junk, debris, unregistered motor vehicles and other uses of property. Also issues Certificates of Use for businesses. Anne Arundel County does not enforce community covenants, which are private contracts between homeowners. (Note: Zoning Enforcement does not enforce tree cutting, clearing in the Critical Area or Buffer Management Plans. These are enforced by Environmental Programs at 410-222-7780.)

Zoning Division -- 410-222-7437 The Current Planning section is responsible for the processing, review and presentation of zoning applications.

Development -- 410-222-7455 Coordinates and reviews all applications for residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions and reviews grading and building permits for large commercial and industrial projects.

Social Services

Provides services and benefits -- for families and individuals who, due to financial hardship, disability, age, chronic disease or any other cause, may need help in obtaining the basic necessities of food and shelter. Children's programs include day care, foster care and protective sevaices. Vulnerable adults are also provided protective sevaices and access to benefit programs.
