Musical today at St. Martin's

St. Martin's Music Ministry will present its spring musical, The Amazing Jerusalem Makeover, and an ice cream social today and tomorrow at St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1120 Spa Road, Annapolis.

The ice cream social will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the production, based on the story of Nehemiah and the wall of Jerusalem, will start at 7:30 p.m.

The cost is $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for children under 12 and a $20 maximum for a family of four. Proceeds will go to the music ministry and a Habitat for Humanity project.

Aglow to meet in Severna Park

Aglow International Outreach will hold a meeting from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow at the Severna Park Youth Center, 617 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd.

Susie Baker will give a presentation on the healing power of God, the power of forgiveness and how to release pain and bitterness.

Pit beef, yard sale set for tomorrow

A pit beef sandwich sale and a yard sale will be held tomorrow at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer to raise money for the Arundel House of Hope Resource & Day Care Center.

The yard sale opens at 8 a.m., and sandwiches will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is at 7606 Quarterfield Road, Glen Burnie.

Sandwich and yard sales will also be held June 10, July 8, Aug. 12 and Sept. 9.

The cost will be $4 for a sandwich or $5 for a meal, which includes chips and a beverage.

Children's chorus plans auction, show

The All Children's Chorus of Annapolis will present its fifth annual fundraising event and concert at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Road, Annapolis.

There will be a silent auction and reception along with the concert, which will feature pianist Brian Ganz, soprano Mary Anne Barcelona, baritone Jason Stearns and string quartet Ensemble Cantabile.

Grace Baptist to host Mother's Day event

Grace Baptist Church of Sunset Beach will host a Mother's Day breakfast at 8 a.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall at 17 Somerset Road, Pasadena.

Breakfast will be for mothers and potential mothers.

Woods Memorial to offer program

Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church will present the Mission, Justice and Peace is out Calling program from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 20 at 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park.

This program will be led by Rev. Dr. Fahed Abu-Akel, who will discuss people's roles as Christians and Americans, and peace talks with Israel and Palestine.

All are welcome, and child care will be provided. Registration is required.

Substance abuse meetings at center

Substance abuse meetings and counseling will be held at 6 p.m. Fridays and Sundays and 7 p.m. Saturdays at Chesapeake Christian Center, 7975 Tick Neck Road, Pasadena. Men and women of all ages are welcome.

Brooklyn United to hold basket bingo

Brooklyn United Methodist Church will hold a basket bingo at 1 p.m. May 21 at Roland Terrace Democratic Club, 619 Matthews Ave., Brooklyn Park.

This event will include 20 regular games, special games and raffles.

Refreshments will be sold.

Proceeds will help fund the church's charitable services.

The cost will be $15 in advance and $18 at the door.

Groundbreaking at Beth Shalom

There will be a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new sanctuary at Temple Beth Shalom at 11 a.m. May 21 at 1461 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Arnold.

This event will correlate with the last day of religious school and the year-end religious festival.

The family-friendly festival will includes games, a moon bounce and a cookout. All are welcome to attend.

Jenkins Memorial sets talent auction

Jenkins Memorial Church will host a talent auction at 5 p.m. May 21 at 133 Riviera Drive, Pasadena.

Among the auction items will be dog grooming, landscaping services, artwork, stained-glass panels, home evaluation, monthly van service for a year, a cleaning service, Ocean City weekend getaways and a hair salon's services.

Proceeds will fund church-sponsored programs.

Child care will be provided, and refreshments will be served.
