JUST MY LUCK

Rating -- PG-13 for some brief sexual references.

What it's about -- Lucky New York PR person loses her luck with a kiss, and tries to find the guy who stole her good fortune.

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Lindsay Lohan chasing Chris Pine around New York.

Good lessons/bad lessons -- Making out with a stranger is unlucky. And lucky girls may need to lose that luck to appreciate what they have.

Violence -- A few socks in the mouth. In jail.

Language -- More profanity than is necessary.

Sex -- Utterly obscured.

Drugs -- Umbrella drinks, or beers, all around!

Parents advisory -- A harmless, generally chaste romantic comedy that is kind of out-of-step with the real Lindsay Lohan, if the scandal magazines are to be believed.

POSEIDON

Rating -- PG-13 for intense prolonged sequences of disaster and peril.

What it's about -- A rogue wave tips over a cruise ship; survivors must climb up through the hull to safety.

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Josh Lucas, Jacinda Barrett, Emmy Rossum, all aboard a ship where lots of faceless extras die. Cool!

Good lessons/bad lessons -- There's no such thing as "every man for himself."

Violence -- People vs. the terrible things that they fall into, or are drowned or burned by.

Language -- Profanity, some of it underwater!

Sex -- Offhanded reference to un-marrieds hooking up, and a little bit of cleavage.

Drugs -- Boat drinks.

Parents advisory -- Perfectly kid-friendly (if grim), perfectly spectacular summer disaster movie, with less sex and violence than your average 9 p.m. TV show.
