What's Playing

A

ABDUCTION: THE MEGUMI YOKOTA STORY -- This is the remarkable story of a 13-year-old Japanese girl abducted on her way home from school by North Korean spies. For 20 years, her parents had no idea what had happened to her. Then, one day the whole world learned the shocking truth.

AL FRANKEN: GOD SPOKE -- The makers of The War Room turn their cameras on yet another burgeoning political career. A cinema verite pursuit of Al Franken shot over two years.

AURORA BOREALIS -- A 20-something slacker (Joshua Jackson) must confront his grandfather's (Donald Sutherland) failing health. He is also forced to face his own past as he begins a relationship with his grandfather's free-spirited nurse (Juliette Lewis).

B

THE BLOSSOMING OF MAXIMO OLIVEROS -- Coming-of-age story of a 12-year-old boy from a gritty area on the outskirts of Manila as he deals with his place in his criminal family when he falls in love with a policeman.

C

THE CALL OF CTHULHU -- A silent film adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft novel. A dying professor leaves his great-nephew a collection of documents pertaining to the Cthulhu Cult. The nephew begins piecing together the dread implications of his grandfather's inquiries.

COCAINE ANGEL -- A tragic yet darkly comic week in the life of a weary young drug addict who is clinging to the remnants of his once-hopeful existence amid the stink, the sweat and the unforgiving heat of Jacksonville, Fla.

CONVERSATIONS WITH OTHER WOMEN -- When a man (Aaron Eckhart) and a woman (Helena Bonham Carter) flirt with each other at a wedding reception, the sexual tension seems spontaneous. But as the conversation deepens, their previous life together is gradually revealed. Shot in "dual-frame," an advanced split-screen effect.

CROSSING ARIZONA -- An up-to-the-moment look at the hotly debated issues of illegal immigration and border security on the U.S./Mexico border.

D

DARKON -- A documentary about a Baltimore-area Live Action Role Playing (LARP) group and the events that take place when an upstart challenges the most powerful kingdom in the land.
