Suds and sounds

The lowdown -- Mmmmm ... beer. Taste more than 50 kinds of brewskies from 14 local breweries at the Maryland Brewer's SpringFest on Saturday in Frederick. Four bands, including Jah Works and the Kelly Bell Band, will perform.

If you go -- The Maryland Brewer's Spring Fest is noon-8 p.m. Saturday at the Frederick Fairgrounds, 797 E. Patrick St. in Frederick. Show to howl over

The lowdown -- Fans of burlesque and sideshows will drool over the Yard Dogs Road Show, a troupe of saloon vaudeville performers that plays the Ottobar on Wednesday. Expect light bulb- and fire-eating and general craziness. Local burlesque act Trixie Little opens.

Party times 2

The lowdown -- Sonar is worth two trips this weekend -- one tomorrow for Taxlo's 4-year birthday party and then back again Saturday for the Rolling Stones vs. the Beatles, a rock 'n' roll dance party. To celebrate Taxlo turning 4, there will be cake and party favors. At Stones vs. Beatles, Lonnie Fisher trades tracks with Mike Miller.

If you go -- Tomorrow night's Taxlo opens at 9 p.m. Admission for those 21 and older is free before 10 p.m. and $5 after. For those younger than 21, it is $5 all night.
