SPORT LACROSSE

BOYS

STATS -- After being called up from the junior varsity in the middle of his freshman season, Masiulus, a junior, has been a mainstay on the Lions' defense at a wing position. At 6 feet 2 and 175 pounds, he has good size for a defender and also has fine speed and stick skills. Howard coach Greg Bulger said Masiulus, named a captain this season, has become a team leader and is always assigned the opposing team's top scoring threat.

SIDELINES -- Masiulus made the honor roll last semester and carries a 2.73 grade point average, with math as his favorite subject. He aspires to play Division I lacrosse in college with plans to study business. Having grown up in Rochester. N.Y., he has played hockey since he was 3 and is a goalie for the Lions' ice hockey team. Masiulus follows the Washington Capitals and the Ravens and enjoys listening to the Dave Matthews Band. He also likes helping his older brother, Dan, restore old cars.
