Adele Plazak, Hammond

GIRLS

STATS -- A four-year starter at shortstop, Adele Plazak is seeing her hard work pay off, as the Golden Bears are enjoying a breakthrough season with a 13-4 mark entering this week. The team captain is batting .380 on the season with six RBIs and 20runs scored, and also has played fine defense at shortstop with one error. Plazak also showed versatility on the soccer field at Hammond, playing fullback and center midfield in her three varsity seasons.

SIDELINES -- With a weighted 4.43 grade point average, Plazak will attend Penn State next fall to study pre-med with hopes of becoming a surgeon. As a member of the National Honor Society, she works on several community service projects, including serving as a volunteer with the Peer Mediation Program at Hammond. She also coaches softball for her local Boys & Girls Club. Plazak plays in an ultimate Frisbee league and enjoys hiking and traveling with her family.
